i am a fully licensed insurance representative im looking to start a small business. i need to know the fundamentals of being a bail bonds man. what it pays how much time as the owner i would have to put in.
I received a copy of the contract for the bail bonds man i asked if for a print out showing me what i am being?
charged for in small claims court he gives me some mans name and number i call it is an investigation company i asked for a copy of the contract he states that they don't do contracts the only thing he can give me is a copy of a hand written receipt he gave to the bells bonds man showing he was paid is this legal and will it hold up in court.i received a copy from the bail bonds man i asked him for a print out showing the expenses i was being charged for.
Bonded Someone out, they missed court do i have to pay bail bonds man?
Ok. I bonded my best friends boyfriend out of jail. They gave me the money, but i just signed for her. she didn't have her id. They told me he was going to go to court. Apparently he didn't go. The bail bonds called me and told me i owed them $5,000. So then the bounty hunters called me and ask me questions. I told them everything they needed to know to find him. I sure as hell don't have $5,000. I don't have a job. But anyway they bounty hunters caught him the same day. The bail bonds man called me the next day and told me i still owe them $300. is this true?
How much will bail bond man charge?
I know most place is 10% but is there any other place that offers only 5%? Could you get your money back or a few back if you've already payed 10% which was $2000.... when an immate got out of jail and a few days later got arrested and sent to jail again? Or if I bail him out again will the bail bond lower the price a little since he got back to jail in such a days?
What can a bail-bonds man do?
Okay so here's a little info and then I will get to my question.My 28yr old brother, stupidly jumped a $2,800 bond and left state. At the time of the bailout $280 was posted and my mom had to sign papers with no collateral, my brother had to sign papers as well. So now the Bail bonds man is saying that my mom signed over collateral and he can take everything she owns in order to get back the money that is owed. We asked him to fax us the papers that he was stating my mom signed, but he will not. He had friends calling and harassing us pretending to be Fugitive Task Force, but they refused to state they're names. They wouldn't even give us last names. They said " we can do whatever we want to you" and they can keep taking my moms things for 7 years. But my mom never signed over collateral. They keep changing the amount of money owed, first it was 8,000 and now its 3,000. They aren't doing anything but harassing my mom, if they wanted my brother they know where he is, because he was arrested after the fact of jumping bail...and nothing happened. He was released. They also claimed that he had federal warrants out in NV that is where he is But when we checked into that, he did not. Now...My brother has a facebook. We found out the other day that the bails bond men had made a facebook under my brothers name, added our friends and family to the facebook, and stated on the facebook in exact words " moocher, bail absconder and wanted fugitive" . Can the bail bonds men do this? They call us up to six times a day making threats but never pursing them. I feel as though some kind of dirty work is being done here. When we said we were going to contact the prosecuting attorney to get legal advice who is a family friend he said " they don't know the law" and when we said we have a judge who is also a family friend, he again said " they don't know the laws either" . Can they do whatever they want to us?...We know that no such collateral was put up, but can they just harass my mom like this? isn't there some kind of limit? what should be done?Is what this guy doing legal? any and all help would be great if you don't have any nice advice please, give none.
